Online Identity

If you don’t have an online identity in today’s world then something just doesn’t sit well. Social media such as Facebook and LinkedIn have been used by employers before even considering someone for a job position.

Now is that fair that employers use social media when considering job applicants? Yes and No. Yes because it gives them the ability to see who people are outside of there resume. No because it gives the employer a preconceived notion about the people in question.  I believe it’s important to have a positive online presence for fear that we will judged by our students or students parents.

Whether you think it’s alright for people to have access to whatever you put online is totally controlled by you. I choose to not post my entire life on the internet, mainly fun stuff that makes me look interesting.
